Vitamin D3 1000iu

Vitamin D3, or cholecalciferol, is required to help the body absorb the calcium needed for strong bones, teeth, and muscle function. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to conditions like rickets, osteomalacia, or osteoporosis. Foods like salmon, tuna, mackerel, beef liver, and egg yolks contain varying amounts of vitamin D, but because we don’t eat these foods in large enough quantities, a supplement is often necessary to make sure that individuals maintain proper levels of vitamin D. This is particularly true for people with lactose intolerance or milk allergies.

1 Capsule daily

Is it possible for me to consume too much Vitamin D?

Yes, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means excess quantities cannot be as easily excreted by the body such as water-soluble vitamins.  Fat-soluble vitamins also have improved absorption in high-fat diets.

I get in the sun, do I need Vitamin D?

An individual requires 10-15 minutes of full-body summer noon-day sun or artificial UVB radiation once or twice per week.  However ideal levels can only be determined by 25(OH)D blood levels.
